Orion Scale Models is CLOSING!
Dear friends,
On November 9th, 2010 I will officially close Orion Scale Models and discontinue all of the self adhesive vinyl F-16 products, as well as liquidate all
remaining decal sheets released under this label.
On November 10th, 2010 the business will be renamed Flying Leathernecks Models.
The AV-8B and F/A-18 vinyl sets will be repackaged, my email accounts, and the address of the website will be changed to reflect the new name.
The web site itself will be completely revamped and will be your 'one stop shop' for all things related to Marine Aviation Modeling!
Why the change?
When I started Orion Scale Models back in June of 2000, my goal was to release products for a variety of aircraft types. However, as my focus over
the years has changed to covering Marine Corps subjects only, the Orion name no longer 'fits' in where I want to take the business.
While things have been very quiet on my end with regard to new releases, I have a lot of interesting things planned for 2011 which will coincide with
the 100th Anniversary of Marine Corps Aviation. The precursor to this will be the name change.
Over the next few weeks I will be sending out emails, a newsletter and post announcements on the various modeling forums with more information.
I look forward to continuing to provide you with the most accurate and thoroughly researched products covering the aircraft of the United States
Marine Corps!
